Five airport workers were rushed to hospital after a suitcase on a Swiss Air flight was feared to contain radioactive materials.
The plane had landed at Josep Tarradellas Barcelona El Prat Airport in Spain and is now being held at Terminal 1.
Some passengers have been confined as a precaution, although Spanish authorities say the risk is currently low.
Emergency services, including fire crews and a chemical risk unit, are at the scene.
