Farage could return to frontline politics at next election, says Richard Tice

Nigel Farage could be returning to frontline politics ahead of the next election, according to Reform UK leader Richard Tice.

Tice said the former UKIP and Conservative politician could play a leading role for his party once he returns from the I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here jungle.

He said he thought Farage would find the idea of a big comeback “very hard to resist” while speaking to the Telegraph.

Members of the Conservative Party have already indicated they would like to see Farage join them, with one MP suggesting he could be given a peerage and made home secretary.

But Tice suggested Farage was keen to return to the party he founded after the Brexit Party disbanded.

Tice told the Telegraph: “He needs to make the judgment – does he want to come back full time into politics?

“The more help, as far as I’m concerned, the better. I think he will find it very hard to resist.

“The opportunity once and for all to punish the Tories will be unbelievably tempting to him.”

Conservative MP Jonathan Gullis had previously said he would “love” to see Farage return to the Tories and even Farage himself has flirted with the idea of a return saying “never say never” while he was attending the Tory party conference.

Tice said the next general election would be a good opportunity for his party.

He said: “This will be an immigration election, whether the main parties like it or not. It is a great opportunity for Reform.”

Farage will return from the jungle next week after repeatedly clashing with fellow contestants on Brexit, immigration and culture war issues.
