Fans name their favourite royal couple and Harry and Meghan might want to look away now

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been voted the fourth most popular couple in the Royal Family in a poll carried out by Express.co.uk.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex received 3,864 votes, meaning they just missed out on a podium finish, however the couple at number one stormed ahead of all the competition.

Prince William and Princess Kate came out on top miles ahead of everyone else, with 49,602 votes, with second place King Charles and Queen Camilla receiving 4,492 votes.

Rounding out the top three in third place were Prince Edward and Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh, with Express readers giving them 3,892 votes.

The other royal couples in contention were Princess Anne and Sir Tim Laurence, Zara and Mike Tindall, Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi and Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank.

Harry and Meghan still put in a respectable performance, as they beat fifth place popular royals Zara and Mike Tindall, who finished just behind with 3,852.

Anne, Beatrice and Eugenie and their spouses came in sixth, seventh and eighth place with 3,050, 351 and 107 votes respectively, while 208 people said other and 461 could not choose.

The Sussexes have been estranged from the Royal Family ever since they quit the Firm and moved to Montecito, California, where they are raising their two young children.

The couple have been happily married since May 19, 2018, however one body language expert claims certain elements of their relationship have shifted over the years.

Darren Stanton said that while Harry and Meghan were initially very “tactile” with each other, they engage in less PDAs (public displays of affection) now, although they are often still snapped holding hands.

Speaking on behalf of Betfair Bingo he said: “Harry and Meghan’s relationship has evolved. When looking at their body language, their public displays of affection have changed drastically over the years.

“When they started dating and became more established as an official couple, they were very affectionate in public, almost more affectionate than William and Kate.”

He added: “I feel that they have toned it down a bit in recent times. I have seen their engaged eye contact has decreased and they aren’t as tactile with one another.

“While they do love each other and they will do anything to support one another, we tend not to see them being as openly passionate.”
