Family's miracle as twins born over Christmas – but they have different birthdays

Twins have granted their parents an unexpected and joyous holiday surprise by making an early entrance into the world, arriving four weeks ahead of schedule.

Adeeqa Parveen Ali, 31, and her partner Faisal Imran, residing in Livingston, West Lothian, found themselves at St John’s Hospital on Christmas Eve, a significant four weeks before the anticipated due date, according to the Daily Record.

The festive gift unfolded with the birth of the newborns, a baby boy named Jami and his sister Rumi. However, the unique twist lies in their birthdays, as they will not be commemorating their entrance into the world on the same day.

Jami, weighing 5lb 8oz, made his debut at 11.44 pm on Christmas Eve, while his sister, tipping the scales at 4lb 2oz, arrived almost an hour later at 12.27 am on Christmas Day.

Although both infants, accompanied by their mother, are slated to remain in the hospital for a few days, hospital staff expressed optimism about their potential discharge by Hogmanay.

Rumi came remarkably close to claiming the title of the first Christmas baby in Scotland, but this distinction went to Eliza Shearer in Aberdeen. Maja Shearer, 27, and Jason Shearer, 28, had an unplanned dash to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary on Christmas Eve as Eliza made her early entrance, a deviation from the expected due date.

The unexpected turn of events altered the holiday plans for the Shearer family, with Mr. Shearer noting that Mrs. Shearer’s parents, visiting from Poland, had to take charge of the traditional Christmas Eve celebration in their home as the expectant parents welcomed their newborn at the hospital.
