Expert takes aim at Palace for taking too long to make major Prince Harry and Meghan move

A royal expert has criticised Buckingham Palace for taking so long to “downgrade” Prince Harry and Meghan Markle from the royal website.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex received yet another blow on Monday after their separate sections were briefly removed from royal.co.uk before being replaced with a joined section that had been moved all the way down to the bottom of the ‘Members of the Royal Family’ tab, along with Prince Andrew.

Now royal biographer Angela Levin said the Palace should have made the change sooner as the Sussex couple are no longer working royals.

Harry and Meghan sensationally quit the Firm and moved to the US back in 2020.

Levin told TalkTV: “It’s not ouch [referring to the host’s previous remark] because they are there with people who are no longer part of the Royal Family. They’ve stepped back.

“It’s taken them [Buckingham Palace] a jolly long time to do that. I don’t know why, they say that it’s not their priority to do that, but actually, it is to let everybody know what it is.”

The expert went on to blast the couple over using their royal titles on the newly launched website, Sussex.com and claimed their only aim is to increase their damaged popularity.

She said: “I also imagine that it’s come after the new website where they’ve taken back all those royal names and they really want to come to London and do all the things that they used to do for us.

“No, they don’t, they want to gain popularity and sell their goods, especially Meghan, she wants to sell her jam and her tablecloths etc.”

It comes after the duchess relaunched a new Instagram page last week announcing her new lifestyle brand, American Riviera Orchard.

The new brand is said to coincide with the launch of a new cooking show on Netflix and will reportedly focus on lifestyle and cooking.

Meghan’s Instagram account, which has amassed 544,000 followers as of March 19, featured a logo, a new crest, a bio that said “by Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex” and linked to a website where people can join a waiting list.
