The ex-editor of Vogue has hinted that he wouldn’t work with Meghan Markle again, despite the pair once reportedly having a close relationship. Edward Enninful, 53, was the editor of Vogue until he resigned in 2023 after six years in the role.

During these six years, Mr Enninful worked with several famous people, including Meghan Markle. He worked with the Duchess of Sussex in 2019 when she guest-edited the September 2019 issue of British Vogue, entitled Forces for Change.

At the time, the Duchess of Sussex was still a working royal and had begun the project when she was pregnant with Prince Archie, who is now six.

While it is believed Meghan, 41, and Mr Enninful had a good friendship at the time, with Mr Enninful once calling the duchess an “ultimate force for change”, rumours began to swirl just a few years ago that they had been in some rift, with once source claiming that the duchess clashed with the editorial team on multiple occasions.

Although Meghan and Mr Enninful have never shown any dislike towards one another, a comment made by the ex-Vogue editor when he launched his new magazine 72 has got people talking.

As reported by The Daily Mail, Mr Enninful was asked whether he will feature Meghan Markle on the cover of his new magazine, which has already featured actress Julia Roberts.

Mr Enninful replied : “Meghan and I had a great moment with the issue we did, but I feel like I have done it and I wouldn’t necessarily repeat myself.”

He also hinted that while the duchess may not be on the cards to be a cover star for his new magazine, King Charles and Queen Camilla might be.

Speaking to The Times, he said: “I love King Charles and Queen Camilla — I went to the coronation with Katy Perry.

“I am happy to have them in the magazine. They care about the same things I do.”

Meghan Markle and Mr Enninful have not addressed rumours of a rift.
