'Everything is on the table': Panama City Beach records seven beach deaths in nine days


PANAMA CITY BEACH, Florida − Councilman Paul Casto says “everything is on the table at this point” when it comes to additional measures to help prevent future drownings.

From June 15-24, seven tourists died in Bay County, Florida, after fighting strong rip currents in the Gulf of Mexico. Of these fatalities, six occurred within the Panama City Beach limits under double red flags, and one happened on an unincorporated beach under a single red flag.
