Everyone is saying the same thing as King Charles attends his first major royal event

King Charles attended Easter Sunday Service at St George’s Chapel alongside Queen Camilla, and seemed to enjoy his walkabout as he spoke to excited crowds and shook people’s hands in Windsor following the event.

Although continuing some formal work since his cancer diagnosis was first announced, most engagements so far have taken place in private, and this marked the King’s first major public appearance.

Fans on-site wished the 75-year-old a “Happy Easter” and many applauded him as he left St George’s Chapel to greet well-wishers, some of which had been waiting since the early hours of Sunday morning to catch a glimpse of the royal.

Meanwhile, royal fans on social media platform, X, have praised the King’s attendance in Windsor on Easter Sunday. User @Curious37430953 wrote: “Good to see King Charles looking well and in good spirits.”

Another fan wrote “So good to see King Charles looking so chirpy”, whilst another exclaimed, “King Charles looks so happy to be out and about”.

Other royal enthusiasts on X claimed how “wonderful” it was to see King Charles out and about and hoped he had a “brilliant day” with his wife, Queen Camilla, and wider Royal Family members, although not all were in attendance.

Today has marked King Charles’s first official royal duty since the shock reveal of his cancer diagnosis on February 5, which came following medical tests after his hospital stay at The London Clinic in January.

For the Easter service, the King was joined at St George’s Chapel by his sister, Princess Anne, as well as the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh and their son, 16-year-old James. Prince Andrew also made an appearance, and was joined by his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson.

Noticeably absent from the event were the Prince and Princess of Wales and their three children, Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, eight, and Prince Louis, five. Earlier this week, however, the Wales family were snapped heading up to Norfolk to spend their school Easter holidays together at the Georgian manor, Anmer Hall.

The future queen is currently undergoing preventative chemotherapy following her shock cancer diagnosis, and is not expected to resume her royal duties until she’s been cleared by her doctors.

King Charles was dressed for the Easter Sunday occasion sporting his usual suit and tie, whereas Queen Camilla opted for an emerald green dress by designer, Anna Valentine.

The royal women all demonstrated their support for the King and Princess Kate by wearing hues of green in a subtle show of unity. Royal experts have since told the Daily Express, the colour is synonymous with the cancer ribbon and Macmillan Cancer support.

Personal stylist, Francesca Cairns, believed the royals were definitely making a statement stating the colour green “represents optimism”. She added: “It evokes feelings of hopefulness. Green is also associated with renewal and hope.”

His attendance at the Easter Mattins service signals that Charles’s doctors believe he is now well enough to be around more people.

A source close to the 75-year-old King said his cancer treatment “is going well” and “both doctors and patient remain positive”.
