Lambourn ridden by Wayne Lordan won the 2025 Epsom Derby on Saturday afternoon, with Lazy Griff finishing second. It was Lordan’s ninth Derby ride, with the Irish jockey dubbing it one of the “greatest” moments of his career.
Tennessee Stud, New Ground and Stanhope Gardens made up the rest of the top five, with pre-race favourite Delacroix placing down in ninth.
Ruling Court was withdrawn on Saturday morning due to the going, with jockey William Buick – who was booked to ride – making it no secret that plenty of water had got into the ground over the past 48 hours.
