EasyJet passenger loses control and fights with police after landing in Turkey

EasyJet passengers were left horrified and children in tears after a passenger ‘lost control’ on a flight to Turkey from Edinburgh, Scotland. The shocking scene unfolded on an easyJet plane as it landed at Antalya Airport around 8.15pm on Saturday, leaving fellow passengers in shock.

The disturbing incident was caught on camera, showing a man in a Celtic jersey punching the aircraft’s ceiling, causing dismay among other travellers.

Chaos ensued as the man attempted to push past cabin crew who were trying to hold him back.

He was heard shouting: “You’re a f*****g f***y” and making aggressive gestures towards another person on the flight, according to the Daily Record.

The confrontation intensified when the man appeared to hit a Turkish police officer and a female airline staff member, while other passengers intervened to stop the altercation, reports Edinburgh Live.

As he fell to the floor, he continued to throw punches at someone who was down.

Amidst the chaos, a woman screamed in terror, adding to the distressing atmosphere.

After the fight calmed down, a mother could be heard reassuring her upset child with the words: “It’s alright, it’s okay.”

This incident occurred following Celtic’s 3-3 draw with Aberdeen at Hampden Park.

Other passengers described enduring extended chaos after a brawl erupted mid-flight.

Easyjet confirmed to The Record that police were called to a flight to Antalya on April 20, due to a disruptive passenger. Easyjet stated: “EasyJet can confirm that police attended a flight to Antalya on 20 April on arrival due to a passenger behaving disruptively on board.”

“EasyJet’s crew are trained to assess and evaluate all situations and to act quickly and appropriately to ensure that the safety of passengers is not compromised at any time. Whilst such incidents are rare we take them very seriously and do not tolerate abusive or threatening behaviour.”

“The safety and wellbeing of all our customers and crew is always our highest priority.”

The Record has reached out to Turkish police for a statement.
