Duchess Sophie shows off hidden talent after impressing public with her dancing skills

Duchess Sophie was all smiles as she visited a charity today in London. The Duchess of Edinburgh had a packed schedule at the Katherine Low Settlement (KLS) as she revealed one of her secret talents.

KSL, based in Battersea, is a charity focusing on reducing poverty and isolation for the past 100 years.

Prince Edward’s wife looked sensational in a green Linda wool blazer by Giuliva Heritage (£1,230) which she paired with N. Peal’s Esme cable mock neck cashmere jumper in ivory white (£445) and Gabriela Hearst’s Freddie wool blend knit midi skirt in white (£840).

She accessorised the look with a brown Sophie Habsburg Belle de jour clutch and the Piper suede over-the-knee boots by Gianvito Rossi in brown.

Sophie appeared to be in high spirits as she met members of the local community and staff while she also learned about the charity’s work and thanked staff and volunteers for their hard work and passion.

She toured the settlement and took part in an Elders’ chair dance class while she also unveiled her sewing talent during a session with women newly arrived in the UK.

The royal also participated in a ‘Love to Learn’ mentoring session for children and young people and unveiled a plaque to mark the occasion.

The charity’s core programmes support over 500 vulnerable local people every week including the elderly, children, young people, their families and refugees.

KLS was opened by the late Queen Mother, as Duchess of York, in 1924 and Her Majesty also returned to the Settlement in 1964 to mark its 40th Anniversary.

Sarah Gibb, Chief Executive of KLS said: “It was an absolute honour for us to welcome Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Edinburgh to Katherine Low Settlement in Battersea today.

“This year marks the charity’s 100th anniversary of bringing the Battersea community together and we are thrilled to start our centenary year with a Royal visit.

“KLS has been lucky enough to have had four previous Royal visits, since it was founded in 1924, and we are extremely grateful for each and everyone of these visits.”
