The Duke of Sussex is said to be particularly keen to reunite with his family following news of King Charles and Princess Kate both battling with cancer.
Harry has reached out to Kate privately on behalf of both him and Meghan, and they are both “very upset” about the recent diagnoses, in spite of previous tensions within the family.
The source continued: “Harry would love for Archie and Lilibet to have a better relationship with their cousins or even the children of some of his friends.
Harry and Meghan’s daughter Lilibet has only visited Britain once since her birth in June 2021, when her parents brought her over to meet the late Queen Elizabeth for the first and only time at the Platinum Jubilee.
While Harry wants his wife by his side to support him during a trying time for his family, Meghan has growing fears about her and her children’s safety in the UK, the source claimed.
They said: “It’s now got to the point where Meghan doesn’t want to come to the UK with the children. She just doesn’t feel safe. The situation is now about whether the family should attend with increased security or Harry should go it alone.”
