Dems plan for 'last minute change to Michelle Obama to avoid 'Joe Biden car crash'

There is a good chance that the Democrats will make a last-minute switch by bringing in Michelle Obama to contest the 2024 election instead of President Joe Biden, it has been claimed.

Former United States Assistant Secretary of the Treasury for Public Affairs Monica Crowley said the Democrats “cannot run” either President Biden or Vice President Kamala Harris as they would be a “car crash” for the Democrats.

She argued that the former First Lady was the more “pristine” option that “covers all the bases” of the electorate.

Crowley added: “The Democrats moved their convention to Chicago and it’s entirely possible they can make the change at a conference in Chicago.

“If they do the switch they can position Michelle as the reluctant candidate. They can run her as the pristine candidate.”

A new Quinnipiac University poll has shown that Biden’s age and mental state is a concern for voters, with 67 percent of respondents saying the 81-year-old is too old to effectively serve another term.

In comparison, 57 percent said the same of Donald Trump.

Trump’s age and mental ability have also been used as an attack line by his opponent in the Republican Party primaries, Nikki Haley.

However, Trump remains comfortably clear of Haley in the polls and looks likely to win the South Carolina vote on February 24.
