Death in Paradise star teases reunion with ex detective after sparking tears with exit


Josephine Jobert has said she would love to work with Ardal O’Hanlon again should the opporunity arise. The former Death In Paradise co-stars last starred opposite each other on the show in 2019 before they respectively moved on to other projects, however five years on, could we be seeing them together again?

Addressing his exit back in 2020, Saint Marie’s former DI Jack Mooney said he was “very worried” about “overstaying his welcome” and believed his character had ran his course. On the other hand, Josephine, who played Florence Cassell, was last seen on the show in March accompanying DI Neville Parker (Ralf Little) in his final scenes.

As the pair sailed off together into the sunset after he finally confessed his love to her, viewers took to the platform X to express their emotions. One wrote: “I’m sobbing Neville and Florence sailing off into the sun together was the perfect ending for them both.

A second commented: “#DeathInParadise finally managed to get a couple together! Only took about 14 years!” A third typed: “Awwww, FINALLY Neville & Florence are together #DeathInParadise.”

Josephine has since been working on brand new AI surveillance drama titled Concordia, starring alongside the likes of Nanna Blondell and Ruth Bradley. During an interaction with fans on Instagram about the show this week, one was keen to know if she would work with Ardal again.

Alongside a picture of the pair from the show’s set, she replied: “Without hesitation. YES! A thousand times. He’s a dream to work with. Beautiful and respectful person.”

Josephine went on to set the record straight about her role in the upcoming series after sparking confusion.

In recent weeks, the actress has been teasing fans with content associated with the drama which has left many wanting to know more.

After sharing a picture of a trailer, one of her followers asked: “Is it true that you are shooting for a new drama named Concordia?”

Finally clarifying things after more of her Instagram followers had asked the same thing, she wrote on her Story: “I received a lot of messages today about the Concordia series.

“Apparently, information has been circulated that I’m starring in the series. But, just so you know, it’s not breaking news.”

Josephine went on to say: “Yes, I’m part of this project (and happy to be!) and I said so when I was shooting (in October 2022, in Rome).”

At the time, the actress said she wasn’t allowed to share any photos or videos that might reveal anything about the series itself, but that she did post a few behind-the-scenes stories.

She added: “I still don’t know when the show will air, but I can’t wait for you to see it!”

Josephine will play Mathilde in the new series, which is set to run for six episodes.

Also a part of the star-studded cast are; House of the Dragons star Nanna Blondell, Ted Lasso’s Ruth Bradley, Christiane Paul, and Steven Sowah, with Game of Thrones’ Frank Doelger serving as executive producer.
