Dad left in stitches after visiting Royal Family waxworks in Poland museum

A dad was left in stitches after paying a visit to the Krakow Wax Museum in Poland, declaring the experience “so bad it was brilliant”.

In a social media post on X, Alastair Hilton shared his thoughts on the unique waxworks display of two members of the Royal Family, stating: “Went to the wax works in Krakow. It was worth every penny. My daughter and I didn’t stop laughing from the moment we went in until we came out. Totally recommend it.”

Accompanying his post was a photo of Hilton posing alongside wax figures of Princess Kate and Prince William.

The post resonated with other visitors who said they also had a delightful and entertaining experience.

One X user, Fr Paul, chimed in with a humorous observation, noting a resemblance between the wax figure of Prince William and comedian Josh Widdicombe. The comment sparked further engagement among visitors, with another user sharing photos sent by his son of wax figures of former US President Donald Trump, Mick Jagger, and Queen Elizabeth II.

The Krakow Museum, known for its diverse exhibits showcasing history, art, and culture, has gained attention for its unique take on waxworks.

Alongside the Royal Family display, the museum offers an array of exhibits that cater to a wide range of interests, from ancient artefacts to modern art installations.

The blend of entertainment and education at the Krakow Museum continues to draw visitors seeking a one-of-a-kind experience.

One TripAdvisor user said of the museum: “The best worst wax museum for a laugh. Absolutely worth the visit for the laughs! If you are expecting high quality realistic figures, then this isn’t for you.

“It is however for those who have a fun personality who are up for a laugh at some of the bad attempts. For only around £10 each, it’s more than worth it!”

Another user echoed: “The definition of meme. If you’re looking for realistic portrayals of celebrities, this is the wrong place to visit. If you’re after a fever dream and a few laughs – this is the best place ever! What you get for 55PLZ (£10) is a small, creepy, unnerving experience – can only assume the models were made after a few vodka shots. However, it is hilarious and good for a laugh, as long as you set your expectations low.”

Another one said: “Don’t go with a hangover. Watch out for stray fingers. The wax works are undoubtedly the most unsettling and uncanny I’ve ever laid eyes on.

“The perfect place to go if you have a sense of humour, probably a nightmare if not. It’s a cheap laugh.”
