A man has been charged after a British tourist claimed someone grabbed her bottom as she was taking a morning run by the beach. The woman was taking her daily exercise at around 5.30am on Thursday, close to the world famous Bondi Beach, in Sydney, Australia. It’s reported the woman was running on Bondi Road when a man riding a red bicycle approached her from behind. Speaking to the lifestyle site Mamamia, she said a man “came up on my right-hand side and almost had to slow down to get around me”, adding: “That’s when I felt somebody grab me and grope my bum.”
In a statement to the Express, NSW Police said tonight: “A man has been charged following an investigation into an alleged sexual touching incident in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs earlier this week. “Officers attached to Eastern Suburbs Police Area Command were told a […] woman was jogging when she was approached and sexually touched by an unknown man. Following inquiries, about 3pm yesterday (Friday 30 October 2026), officers attached to Inner West Police Area Command arrested a 51-year-old man at a property on Unwins Bridge Road, Tempe.
“He was taken to Newtown Police Station where he was charged with sexually touch another person without consent, enter inclosed land not prescribed premises without lawful excuse, and hinder or resist police officer in the execution of duty.
“He was refused bail to appear before Bail Division Court 7 today (Saturday 31 October 2026).” According to Mamamia, after the alleged incident happened, the woman said: “I was so frightened, but I just thought, I can’t let him get away with that.”
Nine News reports she told the Channel “it really scared me” and that she was able to film the cyclist on her mobile phone as he sped down Bondi Road. In the video, the alleged offender can be seen turning back at her, denying the claims.
“I f***ing did nothing to you, you dog,” he said.
