Cut through brown oven glass grime in 10 minutes with ‘magic’ product cleaner recommends

Oven glass doors need to be cleaned regularly as food tends to splatter on them and get burnt-on with the heat.

The more and more the glass is left dirty, the harder it will be to clean. When left in a bed state, Tom Jackson, cleaning expert and founder of Carpet Cleaners MCR, recommends using a specialist product.

He said: “To best clean oven glass we would recommend a professional oven cleaning solution. If you don’t have this and need a domestic product, ‘The Pink Stuff’ is great for cutting through the grime.”

The Pink Stuff cleaning paste is often raved about by cleaning enthusiasts due to the effective results it gives.

On the brand’s website, they describe the product as having a “natural formulation” that gives a “high performance” without the need for chemicals.

Aside from this paste, Tom noted that households will need a silver scourer to help “break up any grease that is tougher to remove” such as grease burnt-on that is unable to be shifted via lighter scrubbing.

Before getting started on cleaning the glass, ensure you’re wearing gloves and then apply the product to the glass and rub it in.

The expert recommends leaving it to sit for 10 to 15 minutes to “let the product work”. Tom said: “It can be tempting, but don’t rub it off too soon. Let it work its magic.”

Once the time is up, take the scourer and rub the glass well with a small amount of water. For “stubborn areas”, a sharp scraper will be needed.

After, remove the product with a cloth and warm water. Go over any small areas that are missed with a scourer, making sure to not rub too vigorously as you don’t want to cause any damage.

Going down the natural route, Toby Schulz, CEO and co-founder of Maid2Match claims the task can be tackled with a silicone/plastic scraper and baking soda.

He said: “Try and see if you can use a silicone or plastic scraper to remove any stuck-on grime from the oven glass. Lay some newspapers on the floor underneath to collect the debris for easier cleaning.”

For “very stubborn stains and dirt”, mix a paste of baking soda and water. Use a non-abrasive sponge to apply the paste to the stained areas and leave it for up to 20 minutes.

After, households can then take their scraper again to remove the softened dirt, or spray some white vinegar onto the surface for “additional cleaning power”.
