Crispy and delicious restaurant-style Brussels sprouts recipe is ‘super easy to make’

What used to be one of the most-hated components of a roast dinner, Brussels sprouts are sally becoming more and more popular in recent years.

Brussels sprouts are very common to have in a Christmas dinner, but if cooked the wrong way they can taste bland and look unappealing.

On a mission to change the opinions around this vegetable, a cooking expert has taken to TikTok to share his “perfectly crispy” restaurant-style Brussels sprouts recipe which he claims is “super easy”.

Chris Joe, otherwise known as @cj.eats, captioned his video: “These super crispy roasted Brussels sprouts are a great side dish you can make for the holidays or to go with your next weeknight meal!

“They’re perfectly crispy around every inch of the Brussels sprouts, just like what you’d expect at the restaurant and so easy to make at home.”

Chris started the video by saying: “Crispy restaurant-style Brussels sprouts are super easy to make at home and perfect if you want a delicious low-effort side dish.”

Ingredients

Brussels sprouts

Sea salt

Black pepper

Garlic powder

Honey

Olive oil

Method

Start by washing the Brussels sprouts and picking off any of the wilted outer layers of the vegetable.

Then simply cut them in half lengthwise and add them to a bowl with olive oil, sea salt, freshly cracked black pepper, garlic powder and a nice drizzle of honey for “a touch of sweetness and extra caramelisation”.

Mix all those ingredients in the bowl before adding olive oil to a preheated baking tray.

Add the chopped sprouts to the tray, making sure that they are turned face down.

Roast them in the oven for 30 minutes at 230 degrees or until super crispy. Season with salt to taste and enjoy.

TikTok users took to the comments section to share their thoughts on the Brussels sprouts recipe.

@howardjohngoodiss wrote: “I’ve never seen them cooked like that. I love sprouts, I parboil them dry them off and fry them with bacon add a tablespoon of honey to finish.”

@nckldn17 said: Amazing! I added some chilli and paprika powder. Thanks for the recipe.”

@wendeehh23 claimed: “I made this the other day and it was so delicious, thanks!”
