Coronation Street spoilers – Bethany's dark past resurfaces and an accidental overdose

Fans can expect to see some explosive scenes unfolding on the cobbles, according to the latest ITV soap spoilers. Next week, Coronation Street fans will see Roy Cropper (played by David Neilson) get some devastating news about his case.

As the disappearance of Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton) continues, the Weatherfield residents are doing their best to try and get to the truth. When Bethany Platt (Lucy Fallon) spots a face from her past at a scene related to the missing teen, her mind spirals.

Has Bethany discovered the person responsible for Lauren’s disappearance? Elsewhere, Liam Connor (Charlie Wrenshall) continues to struggle with his mental health as he suffers from panic attacks.

However, when he finds Paul Foreman’s (Peter Ash) Benzo pills, curiosity takes over, which could have deadly consequences. Express.co.uk has a rundown of some of the biggest storylines set to unfold next week in the cobbles.

Dee-Dee Bailey (Channique Sterling-Brown) reveals to Roy that the police haven’t had any luck trying to find Lauren’s necklace or tracing her mysterious boyfriend.

However, Roy’s gutted by the news as he thought this would be a step in the right direction and now he’s back to square one.

Later on, Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard) tells Ken Barlow (Bill Roache) that he’s arranged to meet up with ex-sex worker Nicky Wheatley (Kimberly Hart-Simpson).

Although he believes she may have news on Lauren, his dad seems more dubious as Ken warns him to be careful.

Bobby Crawford (Jack Carroll), Max Turner (Paddy Bever) and Beth gather together at the precinct to watch the police’s reconstruction of Lauren’s last known movements. However, in the crowd, Bethany recognises a familiar face and is horrified to spot Nathan nearby. Struggling to contain her emotions, she decides to leave.

Back at home, Daniel finds her distressed as Bethany reveals she thought she spotted Nathan at the precinct. However, Daniel tries to assure her that Nathan is in prison and it’s just her mind playing tricks on her.

Later on, Nicky comes around to reveal she’s about to meet a girl called Ellie, who was groomed as a teenager, as she might know more about Lauren. However, Bethany can’t shake the thought of seeing Nathan at the precinct.

As Daniel continues to insist it’s all in her mind, Bethany finds the police reconstruction video and pauses it to zoom in on his face, proving that it is, in fact, Nathan. Wanting confirmation, Bethany heads to the police station.

DS Swain (Victoria Myers) explains to Bethany that Nathan was released months ago. Furious, Bethany urges her to haul him in for questioning, adamant that he’s the person who killed Lauren.

After doing some digging, Bethany discovers that Nathan is working on a building site near the precinct. Bethany and Daniel waste no time in tracking him down to confront him

When Nathan turns the corner, he stops in his tracks, not expecting to see them there. Bethany’s shocked to come face to face with her abuser, although quickly sees red and accuses him of murdering Lauren.

As Liam and Joseph Brown (William Flanagan) settle in to watch a film, the duo have a chat about school life. As Joseph asks Liam if things have improved, he starts to struggle to breathe.

Reaching for his inhaler, Joseph urges him to tell his mum Maria Connor (Samia Longchambon) about his panic attacks. Although Liam refuses, as he doesn’t want to worry her.

While Joseph keeps a lookout, Liam rummages through the cupboards for sweets. However, when he spots Paul’s stash of Benzo pills, he’s intrigued and puts them in his pocket.

Later on in the Rovers, Gary Windass (Mikey North) watches Sarah Platt (Tina O’Brien) knock back the wine and grows concerned. When he spots her heading home with another bottle, he goes over.

When Liam gets back home and realises Gary’s not back, he feels a panic attack coming on and takes out Paul’s Benzo pills. Billy Mayhew (Daniel Brocklebank) discovers the missing pills as Joseph reveals that earlier on, Liam was looking for sweets, causing Billy to panic.

Alone in the flat, Liam lies unconscious, the pill bottle next to him.
