Comedian Kathy Burke left fuming with Ant and Dec over Nigel Farage's I'm A Celeb stint

Kathy Burke was left outraged by Ant and Dec after Nigel Farage appeared on I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here last year. The 59-year-old comedian revealed that she refused to tune into the ITV show after he headed into the jungle show.

The star went on to slam hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly after claiming she was “really angry” at the presenting duo. Kathy was chatting to Seann Walsh who previously appeared on the show.

Sean, 38, was joined by former Health Secretary Matt Hancock during his time on the show back in 2022. On Kathy’s There’s a Will There’s a Wake podcast she explained her brutal reason for switching off this year.

She said: “I didn’t watch this year’s because of Farage being in it.” Sean supported Kathy in her decision and replied “Good for you”.

Kathy added: “Well, it was a step too far having [Matt] Hancock in there I felt but I thought I’d watch it anyway. But when they announced Farage I just thought, you f***ing arseholes. And I was really angry with Ant and Dec. They’re Irish descent, man!”

She added: “And also I think it was really unfair on the rest of you, on the other contestants.”

Back in December Nigel, 60, sparked outrage after it was reported that he was the highest-paid I’m A Celebrity contestant in the show’s history.

The whopping fee sparked huge backlash after rumours indicated that he was paid £1.5 million for his stint.

The 2023 line-up included the likes of Jamie Lynn Spears who is the sister to pop star Britney – although she subsequently walked just days into the show.

Meanwhile, This Morning star Josie Gibson decided to take on a string of challenges down under along with First Dates star Fred Siriex.

Nigel ended up finishing third in the series, making the final alongside reality star Sam Thompson and boxing champ Tony Bellew.

Following Nigel’s appearance Ant and Dec came under fire as in recent years producers have signed politicians whom fans have slated.

They have since stepped out and said they don’t want any more political figures taking part in the programme.

When asked about PM Rishi Sunak popping up in Australia in the future, Dec said on social media: “I think we do a year without any politicians.” While Ant said: Agreed, agreed, agreed.”
