Chrissy Teigen is typically a staple at the annual Met Gala, but the model has confirmed she won’t be attending the 2024 event, due to an unexpected injury.
Teigen, 38, took to Instagram to reveal that, just over a month after successfully traveling with her kids to Thailand, she was unable to attend fashion’s biggest night, because she had sustained a neck injury during an attempted headstand.
Teigen likely would have turned heads at the event, with her past red carpet looks–some braless–often landing her on best-dressed lists–even when she suffers embarrassing wardrobe malfunctions.
However, she revealed her new injury on social media, taking to her stories to joke about the accessory she was sporting instead.
First sharing a photo of herself sitting at home with a neck brace around her neck, she wrote “ @ the met.”

Regardless of reason, Teigen is missing the event that is titled Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion, with a The Garden of Time dress code.
Joining Anna Wintour as co-chairs are Jennifer Lopez, Zendaya, Bad Bunny and Chris Hemsworth.
Other notable names hosting are Gwendoline Christie, La La Anthony and Ashley Graham.
Expected among the attendees are Lopez’s husband, Ben Affleck, Zendaya’s boyfriend, Tom Holland, and staple attendees like the Kardashians.
