Shopping for pigs in blankets, turkey and Christmas pudding in the cheapest supermarket this year could save you around £20.
Consumer group Which? found that the cheapest supermarket cost £18 less for an average Christmas shop than the most expensive, Waitrose.
Which? found that Aldi, which was the cheapest supermarket for a Christmas dinner, also came up on top elsewhere.
In a November price comparison, which included groceries and household items, Aldi was £20.62 cheaper than Waitrose.
Aldi was also £12.77 cheaper than Morrisons and £11.02 cheaper than Sainsbury’s per basket.

Julie Ashfield, who is the managing director of buying at Aldi, commented on the results. Ashfield said: “Christmas can be an expensive time for everyone, with gifts to buy and families to feed. We’re thrilled that at such a crucial time, Which? has officially named Aldi as the cheapest supermarket.”
Ashfield believes the recognition Aldi has received demonstrates its commitment to providing high-quality food at everyday low prices.
When it came to the Christmas trimmings, Aldi was 4p cheaper than Lidl and cost £18 less than Waitrose. By freeing up some money on food shopping, those savings can be used elsewhere.
Whether that be a few Christmas stocking fillers, topping up petrol in the car, or a takeaway, saving money on your food shop helps in little ways.
While you might be convinced to shop at Aldi for Christmas this year, the supermarket has consistently been named the cheapest supermarket throughout 2023.
Which? declared Aldi as the cheapest supermarket for a basket of groceries every month this year, except from October, when Lidl narrowly stole the title.
