CCTV reveals shocking moment six women 'dine and dash' after splurging £140 in pub

Shocking CCTV appears to shows six ‘dine and dash’ women brazenly walking out of a pub in Worcester after splurging £140 on food and drinks. According to pub bosses, the women stuffed their faces with food and booze at the Wheelbarrow Castle pub.

Footage from the pub’s security camera shows the tracksuit-wearing women filing past the bar with one pushing a pram. One of the women even takes time to stand and pick her nose while waiting for her friends to walk out without paying after the Saturday afternoon blowout.

The alleged “dine and dashers” were caught on camera leaving the popular pub at around 3pm on Saturday, March 23. The women fled in a dark blue 4×4 and a dark coloured VW Golf after spending several hours eating food and ordering alcoholic drinks.

Landlady Sarah Hutchins claims staff tried to chase the women who swore and laughed as they drove away. Sarah later posted images of the women on the pub’s Facebook.

The post read: “These delightful ladies were part of a group of six women that decided to leave without paying their £140 bill! They shot off in a 73 plate car, nice of them to stick their fingers up to our staff who tried to chase after them as they sped off!

“You’d think they would be able to pay their bill unless their car was stolen too. You people are why pubs are closing every day. It’s a hard enough job as it is without scumbags thinking it’s ok to fill their faces with food and drink and then do a runner.”

The receipt shows that the group splurged out on nachos, fish and chips, steak sandwiches as well as glasses of rose wine, a half pint of lager and some J20s.

Sarah said she had been forced to turn detective after police refused to investigate the crime. She even claims that since the Facebook post, she has been given the name and address of one of the women.

Sarah added: “It’s very rare that someone leaves without paying. It has happened a couple of times before where people have come back and paid, probably out of shame. They don’t seem to give a monkeys.

“When my staff went to clear their table it was absolutely filthy and they’d even left a dirty nappy on the windowsill. Apparently this is what they do and have been known to steal from shops in their hometown. I just want these people to know that I will not stand by and do nothing.

“What gives anyone the right to get away without paying and then swear and laugh at my staff? I have told the police but they are not interested. I’ve even been sent the name and address of one of the women but I don’t think anything will be done about it.”

West Mercia Police confirmed they had received a report of theft from the pub but said no arrests have been made. A police spokesperson said: “No arrests have been made. We did receive a report of theft from the Wheelbarrow Castle and Country Pub in Radford on Saturday 23 March.”
