Fans of a Cadbury chocolate staple will want to get their hands on one kind of Heroes box this Christmas. Heroes is a common box of treats to find in UK homes over the festive period. The selection of Heroes remains largely unchanged over the years, but this year sees the introduction of a mini version of a favourite Cadbury bar for many. Cadbury recently revealed that it’s trialling new cardboard boxes of heroes in Tesco stores across the UK.

In these paper tubs, customers will be treated to a surprising change. However, one classic Heroes staple will be axed from the lineup. Both of these changes are the first-ever to be introduced by Cadbury when it comes to tubs of Heroes. Around 300,000 of these paper tubs will be distributed to be sold exclusively at Tesco stores throughout the UK in an effort to reduce the company’s use of virgin plastic.

In these boxes, Cadbury fans will be delighted to find a mini version of a Flake bar. It will be added to the iconic box of Cadbury chocolates, enjoying staples like Wispa, Dairy Milk, Twirl, Creme Egg Twisted and Dinky Decker.

However, this means that one fan favourite will be missing from the line-up in these new boxes. So, you won’t want to get these boxes if you are a fan of Eclairs, because they will not be included.

The chewy caramel treats have been a staple in tubs of Heroes for many years, first introduced back in 2008 when they replaced Dream chocolates.

The new boxes will be available in Tesco stores from late October for a limited time. Christina Bland, brand manager for Cadbury, said: “The Heroes paper tub trial represents a step in our active work to explore new packaging solutions for our portfolio.

“This trial will inform our long-term packaging approach, and we are also excited to introduce Cadbury Flake to the assortment for this trial, offering a new favourite for consumers to enjoy.”

There will be a QR code inside the lid of the tub where people can give their feedback.
