Builders arrive at Captain Tom's family's £200k spa before tear-down in new pictures

Builders have arrived at Captain Tom Moore’s family’s home after they were ordered to tear down a £200,000 unauthorised spa complex. New pictures show scaffolders arriving at Hannah Ingram Moore and her husband Colin’s Bedfordshire home, after they lost an appeal against an order to remove the Captain Tom Foundation Building.

It comes days after movers were seen carrying Captain Tom’s Guinness World Record certificate and a BBC Sports Personality of the Year award out of the shed.

Planning officials ordered the spa was demolished after it was built in a design which did not have planning permission at the £1.2m mansion.

Captain Tom’s daughter and her husband were given a six-week timeframe to try and save the “unauthorised” building following a court case in October, but the judicial review deadline has now passed – and it appears the family did not launch an appeal during that period.
