Brooklyn Beckham explains solo Met Gala outing as wife Nicola's absence sparks concern

Brooklyn Peltz Beckham sparked some concern among fans as he made a solo appearance at the Met Gala last night.

The 25-year-old strutted the red carpet alongside Hollywood’s biggest stars and leading names in fashion as he held his own in an elegant white suit with a deep v-cut shirt revealing some of his neck and chest tattoos as well as a statement gold chain.

The culinary enthusiast appeared downcast but put on a taut smile for the cameras as he passed by.

The 2024 Gala marked Brooklyn’s fourth consecutive appearance but his first without his wife by his side.

While some fans were concerned that Nicola Peltz Beckham’s absence from the evening spelled trouble in their relationship Brooklyn assured them that was simply not the case.

On his Instagram story, the photographer shared a selfie from the evening as he held his chin in contemplation and explained the situation.

He wrote: “Missing my beautiful wife tonight as my date, but happy she’s with Naunni x can’t wait to see you both tomorrow baby.” (sic)

Naunni is Nicola’s grandmother, who the 29-year-old has been spending a lot of quality time with recently.

This is also why Nicola also missed out on her mother-in-law, Victoria Beckham’s, 50th birthday last month.

When asked by reporters at the Metropolitan Museum of Art about his solo outing, the 26-year-old admitted he was “missing my beautiful wife”, but jokingly added: “Guess I’ll have to settle for all these beautiful celebrities instead.”

The eldest son of Davi and Victoria Beckham has earned his place at the annual social event over the year and made a jaw-dropping appearance at last year’s ball with his wife as they modelled co-ordinating black and white looks.

While Brooklyn was marking his first solo Met Gala appearance, a number of other couples made their red carpet debut at fashion’s biggest night.

Sabrina Carpenter and Barry Keoghan made their first-ever public appearance together, although they entered separately and only linked up at the end of the carpet.

Maneskin star Damiano David also made his debut at the Met with his beau Dove Cameron, who returned to the ball after her headline-making 2022 appearance.
