A British dad has tragically died after collapsing at the summit of a mountain while on a hike for his daughter’s birthday. The man, 63, had spent the day hiking on Ella Rock in the south of Sri Lanka when he suddenly fell ill and suffered a heart attack upon reaching the summit.
On October 25, the father and daughter, who were in Sri Lanka to celebrate the young woman’s 34th birthday, decided to hike up Ella Rock, which can take up to four hours to complete. But according to local police, once they reached the top of the mountain, the dad is believed to have collapsed.
