A “drunk” British couple were arrested and hauled away by police in Alicante after boasting to a packed EasyJet plane they were “joining the mile high club”. Minutes later loud noises were heard from the toilets belonging to the intoxicated Brits, according to local reports.
A cabin crew member tried to frantically coax the couple in their 30s out of the cubicle whilst horrified passengers which included families with children looked on in disbelief. Appalled passengers onboard the flight bound for Alicante from Luton airport on Friday night said that it was clear from the sounds coming from the toilets that the couple were fulfilling their crude announcement. Onboard travellers reported that the couple had been hitting the drink heaving before taking off.
The couple demanded more alcohol from a female member of the cabin crew who instead suggested coffee. To which the woman allegedly screamed “I’m not having coffee!”
The female passenger then said that she was going to be sick and rushed to the toilet, shouting for her male partner to join her, which he did and the shocking incident began.
One onbaord passenger said: “They were making lots of noise in their seats and the woman appeared pretty drunk.
“But she kept asking for more drink. A cabin crew member suggested she should have coffee but she screamed ‘I’m not having coffee!’ and asked for more alcohol.
“Then the woman was shouting out to other passengers ‘I’m going to join the mile high club.”
The passenger added that once they were in the toilet “loud noises and grunts and groans started”.
She continued: “I was right nearby but most passengers could hear it and it was awful in front of so many kids.”
A stewardess reported their x-rated behaviour to the captain who radioed authorities at Alicante-Elche to organise the Guardia Civil to meet them upon arrival.
An Easyjet spokesperson said: ‘We can confirm that flight EZY2317 from Luton to Alicante on August 8 was met by police upon landing in Alicante due to some passengers behaving disruptively onboard.”
