Bride's cheeky wedding stunt at the altar has people in stitches at groom's face

A viral video has shown the moment a bride’s cheeky wedding stunt left her guests in stitches and her new husband in shock. Footage posted on TikTok captured a longtime couple as they were about to deliver their vows on the big day.

The video explains the unnamed pair were tying the knot after 15 years together, a fact the bride celebrated as she produced her wedding vows while standing opposite the expectant groom. The footage – taken from both the bride and groom’s perspective – shows the groom beaming as he looks at his wife-to-be, straight-faced, opening the paper on which she has written the vows.

His expression quickly turns to shock as she unfolds the paper and blows on its surface. The camera captures a layer of dust cascading off the paper surface, sending the couple and their guests into fits of laughter.

The short video, which lasts just 14 seconds, shows the bride cracking up as laughter ripples through the crowds sitting in front of the altar. The groom appears mockingly disapproving and flashes a wry smile at the guests and camera while shaking his head.

The stunt has garnered several million views, with 3.4 million people having “liked” the footage alone. And it has earned the bride high praise from dozens of TikTokers, who approved of the gentle humour behind the gag.

One user said: “This was such a clever and hilarious way of bringing laughter and fun into your vows.” Another joked: “Her way of saying ‘I’ve been waiting a goddamn long time for this’.” And another said: “Funny but also…means she’s known for a long time that he’s the one.”

One TikToker compared the vows to others that have gone viral this year, saying: “See now that’s a wedding vow roast I can get behind, not the one where the groom says obscenely inappropriate and degrading things to his bride.”

The user was referring to another video posted to the social media platform earlier this year in which a man delivered vulgar vows from the altar that social media users deemed “disgusting”.

Michael Lentini and his then-bride Destiny tied the knot earlier this year in a Florida wedding in which now Mrs Lentini delivered long, heartfelt vows to her groom.

But Mr Lentini responded with a speech in which he told his wife to “keep my belly full and my b***s empty” and made references to “gagging and headboard slamming”.

The groom earned fierce criticism for the vows, which were posted to TikTok, with users deeming them “humiliating” and stating that, if they were in the bride’s position, they would have “walked away from the aisle”.

But Mrs Lentini defended her new husband, stating his vows showed a “piece of his personality” and insisted she was not in a “toxic” relationship with her husband, who she said was “too good for me”.
