Antiques Roadshow fans are just discovering a series of cosy mystery novels they just can’t get enough of. Fans of the BBC series, which was also adapted for a US version on PBS, are going wild for Barbara Allen’s Trash n Treasures mystery series – the first book of which is called Antiques Roadkill.

The 18-book series follows protagonist Brandy Borne, who faces various mysteries surrounding the eclectic world of antique hunting. The first book’s synopsis reads: “Brandy Borne finds her return home met with mayhem and murder when her mother, a larger-than-life actress and gossip, is swindled out of some priceless antiques by Clint Carson, who then winds up dead – making Brandy the prime suspect in the murder investigation.”

Further books in the series see Brandy unmasking killers, immerse herself in a dark family mystery and launching her own reality TV series Antiques Sleuths. It’s written by husband-and-wife writing team Max Allan and Barbara Collins, and reviews from fans have branded it a “quirky and cosy” set of books to settle down with.

One posted in their Goodreads review: “Keeps you wanting more!” as someone else gushed: “If you are looking for a cozy mystery series with laugh out loud fun, Barbara Allen’s Trash N’ Treasure’s Mysteries are wonderful. Witty and uncomplicated, the reading is pure enjoyment and the characters are like old friends.”

It’s not the only series recommended for Antiques Roadshow fans. Jane K. Cleland’s series Josie Prescott Antiques Mysteries is also on plenty of reading lists, with Kirkus Reviews claiming of the first book Consigned to Death: “Antiques Roadshow fans and mystery lovers will delight in this erudite debut.”

The series is comprised of 14 books, following auctioneer Josie Prescott as she tries to clear her name after a price fixing scandal.

The Antique Shop Mystery anthology series, written by various authors, is also perfect for anyone who fancies a combination of antique investigations and the cosy mystery genre.
