Ukraine is set to mass produce a new deadly missile after concluding successful tests, potentially turning the tables on Vladimir Putin. The Russian leader has shown little compunction in bombing Ukrainian cities and towns to smithereens using a lethal mix of drones and missiles.
The Kremlin hopes its brutal onslaughts will erode the Ukraine public’s support for the war and break down the nation’s morale. His campaign of terror has killed and injured thousands of innocent citizens, who have had to endure night-upon-night of intense bombardments. In contrast, Russian citizens living in the countries biggest cities like Moscow and St Petersburg have been spared the worst of the war.
Aside from some disruption to their travel plans, life has continued on as serenely as usual for the vast majority.
But now a new deadly long range missile could be about to change all that and give Russians a dose of their own bitter medicine.
Ukraine is set to ramp up the production of its so-called Flamingo cruise missile, which will have a range of up to 3,000km. This will enable it to strike anywhere in central Russia – easily reaching Moscow or St Petersburg, or even some distance into Siberia.
The missile is a big beast, boasting a six-metre wingspan and weighing in at six tonnes. It packs a mighty punch, armed with a one tonne warhead and has the capability to raze buildings to the ground.
Ukraine has posted video footage of its Flamingo production line as well as images of test launches. In a clear sign of growing panic in the Kremlin, a top propagandist lashed out at the UK, accusing London of in effect supplying Ukraine with its new lethal weapon.
Olga Skabeyeva told her TV audience: “The Kyiv regime is circulating footage allegedly showing the use of, allegedly, a new Ukrainian Flamingo missile. Or rather, a missile that is not entirely Ukrainian.
“As an Associated Press journalist pointed out, the Ukrainian wonder weapon looks like the twin brother of the British FP-5 Milanion missile, which was demonstrated just six months ago at the IDEX-2025 defence exhibition in Abu Dhabi.
“It was announced there that the heavy FP-5 cruise missile carries a one tonne warhead, reaches speeds of up to 950kph and can strike targets at a distance of 3,000km. Coincidentally, the Ukrainian missile has similar characteristics.”
She added fearfully: “This means that the entire European part of Russia, the Urals and even part of Western Siberia fall within its range.”
