Body found in search for missing Scotsman Joop Sparkes in Prague


A man’s body has been discovered in a river in Prague during the search for missing Scotsman Joop Sparkes.

Joop Sparkes, a 29 year old construction worker from Galashiels, disappeared after leaping from a party boat into the Vltava River between 1am and 2am on Sunday, April 27.

The body was retrieved around 7pm on Sunday evening, May 5, in the vicinity where Joop was last seen.

Local media in Prague have reported that an eyewitness spotted the body near the Stefanik bridge.

The family of the missing man has been notified about the tragic find.
