Bodkin cast: Who stars in the Netflix comedic thriller?

Bodkin is an upcoming comedic thriller on Netflix but who makes up the cast?

The seven-part series will follow a motley crew of true crime podcasters who begin to investigate a cold case involving the mysterious disappearances from Bodkin 25 years prior.

It is only during the town’s annual Gaelic fall festival Samhain that the gang quickly realises that Bodkin is full of dark secrets that have yet to be uncovered.

Who is in the Bodkin cast on Netflix?

Gilbert – Will Forte

Enthusiastic and charming American podcaster Gilbert is eager to find his next big story and tries to do so by making Bodkin residents feel at ease so they open up to him.

Despite his optimistic attitude, Gilbert has some dark secrets of his own that he’d rather stay buried.

Actor Will Forte was famously part of the Saturday Night Live cast for eight seasons, departing in 2010, and has since appeared in The Last Man on Earth, Strays and Sweet Tooth.

Dove – Siobhan Cullen

Nevertheless, she is skilled at finding the root of stories and doing everything she can to get to the truth.

She is played by actress Siobhan Cullen who has previously been in Obituary, The Long Call, Dalgleish and most recently The Dry on ITV.

Emmy – Robyn Cara

Gilbert and Dove are joined by Emmy in the true crime podcasting team as a researcher who is eager to please.

She tries to help Gilbert organise the podcast as she struggles to find her own voice on the show, choosing to shield her insecurities with humour.

Actress Robyn Cara will be recognised for the Apple TV+ series Trying, the Channel 4 comedy-drama Ackley Bridge, as well as the Sky Max show The Rising.

Seamus Gallagher – David Wilmot

Actor David Wilmot has had roles in projects including Station Eleven, The Wonder, The Lies We Tell, The Letter For The King and The Crown.

He is behind the mysterious Seamus Gallagher who can be charming but is often prone to violent outbursts.

Sean O’Shea – Chris Walley

Sean O’Shea is an Irish country lad who doesn’t take life too seriously.

However, when he gets wrapped up in some dodgy business, Sean quickly realises he is out of his depth.

He is portrayed by actor Chris Walley who will be remembered for playing Jack O’Keeffe in the comedy movie The Young Offenders which won him an IFTA Award.

Walley has also had roles in Lies We Tell, Unwelcome, Pixie and Bloodlands.

Apart from the intriguing premise and the memorable cast, Bodkin is an instant stand-out because of who is behind the show.

The Irish series has been created by Barack and Michelle Obama’s Higher Ground production company with the former President of the United States and First Lady also serving as executive producers.

A fellow executive producer and Bodkin’s creator is Jez Scharf with Nash Edgerton as lead director.

Bodkin premieres on Thursday, May 9, on Netflix.
