Blue Zone-inspired grain bowl recipe is 'delicious' and 'nutrient-dense'

This refreshing recipe is not only delicious but also nutrient-dense, making it the perfect meal to whip up for spring and summer.

Inspired by the Blue Zone diet, which infuses recipes and rituals from the five places around the world where people live the longest, this Mediterranean-style grain bowl incorporates the top four food groups in their diets: beans, greens, grains and nuts.

Using staple Mediterranean ingredients like chickpeas, the bowl is then topped off with a lemon tahini herb sauce.

Another popular Blue Zone recipe that hails from Italy worth trying is minestrone soup.

Here is how to make Dr. Dean and Dr. Ayesha Sherzai’s recipe, which was published on Netflix’s Blue Zones documentarian Dan Buettner’s website.
