Big-hearted boss stuns 140 workers with incredible Christmas present worth hundreds

He funded the mini break in Marbella as a thank you for a record-breaking year at his national advisory firm, Sedulo Group.

The festive treat included flights and all-inclusive accommodation, followed by a Christmas party at former TOWIE star Alliott Wright’s restaurant Olivia, on the Costa Del Sol.

Workers from his offices in Manchester, London, Liverpool and Leeds have produced another big year for the company, which reported record revenues for the 13th consecutive year, at about £14.5 million.

Sedulo founder Paul believes that giving back to employees and creating a positive working culture will result in a more motivated, collaborative workforce, which is integral to the overall success of his business.

Each office uses a weekly team happiness tool, which monitors how staff are feeling about work, and workplace environments have been designed to ensure staff feel fully inspired, creative and happy when at work.

The mid-tier financial advisory firm is rapidly challenging the “big four” – PwC, KPMG, Deloitte and Ernst & Young – after securing a number of major new clients and representing organisations such as Rugby League superpowers Leeds Rhinos and fast growing retailers such as the beauty and cosmetic brand P Louise, and the rapidly growing sportswear brand, Montirex.

Paul said: “It’s been another great year for Sedulo, which simply could not have been possible without the hard work and dedication shown by our team year after year. “We started the Sedulo Christmas trip over 12 years ago now and it’s something we’ll continue to do, despite the rapid pace at which the business is growing.”

“These trips are about giving something back and showing our people that their hard work is appreciated, particularly after completion of our 2023 record breaking Christmas Toy Appeal, while also allowing us to come together as a team and celebrate the continued success of our business.”

“We believe that in order to deliver the first-class service we provide as a business, a positive culture needs to be fostered because happy teams achieve high performance, and that’s why these annual trips are important.”

“We work incredibly hard at Sedulo and at Christmas it is great to have a little bit of fun with the team. We like to do things a little bit differently and flying over 140 people to Spain for our annual Christmas do is a great way of celebrating as a collective, it helps bring the 9 divisions and 4 office locations together.”

Sedulo was founded in 2009 and offers expertise in audit, taxation, wealth management and corporate finance, to name a few.

The firm, which believes in creating positive impact for communities through people and business, also launched The Sedulo Foundation in 2023, which has so far raised over £150,000, and spearheads the annual Sedulo Christmas Toy Drive, delivering over 17,000 presents to children across the UK in 2023 alone.

The company has been praised for its charitable efforts. This year staff have given up their time to raise money for the annual toy appeal and prepare gifts for children from families affected by poverty.
