While summer may be nearing its end, it seems there are still hot days ahead with parts of the UK hitting highs of above 30C over the last week (and there’s more to come). And, just in time, a highly rated fan has been discounted on Amazon by 29%. Usually retailing for £32.49, the Honeywell TurboForce Power Fan is now available for £22.99.
The device, rated 4.5 stars, has been praised as “superior” to Dyson and “powerful” despite its compact size. In a review on the Amazon website, one shopper said: “Forget your Dyson bladeless. This little fan is better. It’s so powerful for its size. It’s no brainier—just buy it.”
Reporter Bethan Shufflebotham from the Manchester Evening News also tested the fan. She said: “Despite its compact size of no more than 30cm in height or width, this Honeywell fan packs a punch. I’ve never felt the need to try a Dyson fan, as this device does an excellent job of keeping me cool during the summer months while working from home. It even outperforms the £20 tower fan I bought from Aldi in 2022.”
The fan is available for next-day delivery, and if you have a Prime account, you don’t need to worry about delivery fees.
“The fan arrives fully assembled, making setup a breeze,” said Bethan. It has a three-metre cable and can tilt by 90 degrees.
“Its sleek and minimalist design is far from an eyesore, and its lightweight nature allows for easy room-to-room movement,” added Bethan. “Given its price, I’d recommend getting two – one for upstairs and one for downstairs.”
The fan has three speed settings and can be wall-mounted or used as a desk fan. Despite being powerful, Bethan was particularly pleased with its quiet operation. She said: “The slowest speed is almost silent, making it perfect for work calls during the day, watching films or catching up on Love Island, and it doesn’t disturb my sleep when used overnight.
“The medium speed setting produces a gentle hum, delivering more of a breeze, but still, there’s no need to reach for the volume button on the TV remote. The highest setting is noisier than the others, but no noisier than other fans we’ve tested over the years, and it’s more than worth it for the performance.”
The fan has achieved a customer satisfaction rating of five stars out of five on Amazon.
A shopper said: “Extremely quiet, even on full power. Very strong breeze, a lot better than my Dyson hot and cold fan. Cannot fault this.”
A second added: “This fan is an absolute powerhouse. I have no clue as to how it can be so powerful for its size, but fair play to Honeywell. It’s easily at least 10 times more powerful than the Dyson fan (a really bad purchase) we also have.”
However, one didn’t appreciate the design of the settings switch, saying: “It’s a decent enough fan in terms of airflow. The main problem is that the switch is in an awkward spot to turn on and off.”
