When indulging in a spot of TLC, no self-care day is complete without a face mask to give our skin a much-needed boost. Now, skincare fans might well be well-stocked on their favourite products, but that doesn’t mean we can’t dip our toes into other brands to see the results – especially if they reportedly help with the signs of ageing.

LookFantastic has recently launched a beauty edit that’s perfect for this in its The Mask Edit. An ideal Christmas gift for any beauty fan, the box contains 11 different skincare masks targeting different areas – from feet to face – as well as brands like Rodial, Medicube, Foreo, Biodance and more.

Costing £35, the set’s contents are worth over £85, with one mask priced at £20 individually. The Rodial Salmon DNA Hydrogel Face Mask is said to revive tired, dehydrated skin for a plumper, smoother and more radiant-looking complexion. The formula is powered by polynucleotides (PDRN), NMN, multi-weight hyaluronic acid, and peptides, and is said to help skin look stronger, smoother, and revitalised.

While PDRN works to encourage visible skin renewal, NMN (a precursor to NAD+) aids in maintaining overall skin vitality. Additionally, multi-weight hyaluronic acid ensures lasting, deep hydration, while targeted peptides work to firm and smooth the skin for a plumper, more youthful appearance.

Though most people were ‘blown away at how gorgeous my skin looked after using this’, one user found it wasn’t quite as good as the brand’s serum. They said in a three-star review: “I really wanted to like this mask but was disappointed with it as it didn’t seem to have much serum in it when I applied it. Also tried a sample of the serum and would rather invest in that as unfortunately the mask wasn’t worth it.

“I may try it again, it’s possible I had a faulty sheet mask. The serum sample really made my skin glow I do believe the product works well if you have a reasonable amount to apply to the skin.”

Another top product in this haul is the Victoria Beckham-loved 111 Skin Black Diamond Face Mask. Typically priced at £21, the mask is said to offer ‘instant visible tightening’ and a ‘plumping and soothing effect’.

The brand explains: “Drenched in potent actives, it uses Diamond Particles to help powerful Peptides travel deep into the skin. Triple-action Goji Glycopeptides help instantly tighten, diminish fine lines and lift and sculpt, while powerful herb Centella Asiatica supports plumping and blurring the look of fine lines.”

Alternative beauty sets

For anyone who wants to stock up solely on 111 face masks, the brand offers a mask discovery collection (£80) that contains five different products, targeted at depuffing, brightening, firming and more.

Elsewhere, at Sephora shoppers can get their hands on 11 Sephora face masks for £47.99 but valued at £98 in its Mask Mania set.
