Bathroom smells will disappear if you use 1 simple product on floors

Cleaning the bathroom is nobody’s favourite household chore, but it’s a very important one. Bacteria and germs are most likely to thrive in this room, with damp and mould also being a huge potential problem.

Because of this, you might find that the bathroom is a breeding ground for unpleasant odours. But don’t despair – you can easily neutralise these by cleaning the floors with one surprising item you’ve probably already got in your cupboards. That’s according to lifestyle influencer Chantel Mila, who says this easy trick will change the way you clean.

The mum, who has racked up more than 1.5 million followers thanks to her simple yet effective cleaning tips, says you’ll wish you knew about this hack sooner, as it’s a great way to banish bad odours and leave your bathroom smelling great once again.

All you need to do this is a simple can of shaving foam, which costs as little as £1 from Boots if you don’t have it already. Using this as your key cleaning ingredient when mopping the floors is enough to “neutralise” these bad smells.

This advice was echoed by the experts at House Beautiful, who said that you can also clean the toilet bowl itself with shaving foam to get rid of any lingering odours.

They said it can work great when cleaning tiled floors too, especially when it comes to the grout in between them. Just spray it on to your bathroom floor or walls and give it a good scrub with a cloth or a brush to really get into those crevices.

Not only is shaving foam great for keeping bad smells at bay – it can also be used to clean your bathroom mirrors or any other surfaces that you don’t want to fog up after a hot shower or bath.

Lynsey Queen of Clean raved about this tip in a blog post, saying: “Cover your mirror with white shaving cream, leave it for 30 seconds and simply wipe with a microfibre cloth or good quality kitchen roll and this will completely stop your mirror from fogging up. The bonus is that it will also help prevent streaks.”
