Bargain four-bed home on sale for £130k – but you can't even use your own driveway


At just £130,000, one British home is seemingly a bargain, but potential buyers have been warned they will not be able to use their driveway.

The listing for the four-bed home in Staffordshire explains that the property is landlocked meaning the buyer will be unable to access it by car.

But that is not all, with a solicitor’s note accompanying the listing explaining that any attempts to build an access road will be refused by the neighbour.

It read: “The adjoining owner will not grant any such rights of access and, in the event that a purchaser of the property attempts to gain access over the driveway, the adjoining owner will seek an injunction preventing access from being gained over their land.”

But even once the new owner is in their home, the neighbour has promised to disconnect the adjoining water supply once they move in.

The note continued: “The property does not enjoy any rights or easements to receive a mains water supply.

“Prior to completion, the adjoining owner will disconnect the existing water supply to the property.

“The adjoining owner will not grant any rights or easements over the surrounding land for any alternative supply.”

And it gets even worse as the home is “currently occupied and vacant possession will not be given on completion” and no viewings are possible.

The listing left many on social media perplexed as to what someone could gain by purchasing the property.

One Twitter user commented: “The use of all caps. The threat of injunction. The promise to disconnect existing water supply. So chaotic. I am here for this drama.”

While another added: “‘No viewings possible’ – I wonder what other delights are hiding inside?

“I would definitely buy it for the lols if I had £130k to spare (and the sort of person who does, can use a helicopter to get in and out, problem solved).”
