Baby Reindeer’s ‘Martha’ reveals new beau and claims Richard Gadd ‘asked to sleep with me'

Scottish lawyer Fiona Harvey, who is believed to be the inspiration behind the character Martha in the hit Netflix series Baby Reindeer, appeared in her first TV interview with Piers Morgan on Thursday night.

In the series, inspired by the real-life experiences of comedian and writer Richard Gadd, his character Donny is stalked by a woman called Martha after he serves her a free cup of tea in the pub where he works.

Following its release, viewers tried to track down the real Martha and Ms Harvey, 58, came forward, but denied stalking Mr Gadd, 34, or going to prison.

Speaking to Piers, 59, Ms Harvey claimed that she was never friends with Mr Gadd and alleged she “brushed him off” when he “asked [her] to sleep with him”.

She said: “He asked me to sleep with him with a big, green spot on his face. I said, ‘No, sorry I’m not interested’. He said, ‘Would [you] like [your] curtains fixed?’ I laughed and he said, ‘That’s a euphemism, do you want me to come home with you?’”

Ms Harvey said she rejected his alleged proposition, adding that she had a boyfriend at the time.

Piers then asked whether she “fancied” the comedian, she replied: “No. I don’t fancy little boys without jobs.”

Elsewhere in the interview, Ms Harvey said she now has a new boyfriend who works as a lawyer and “believes” that she never stalked Mr Gadd.

Ms Harvey did admit that she owned a ‘baby reindeer’ toy which inspired the series’ name and had communicated with Mr Gadd on occasion. However, she vehemently denied sending the vast amount of voicemails and emails portrayed in the series.

When viewers began to speculate over the real people who inspired the events behind the series, Mr Gadd posted a message to his Instagram story urging fans to stop.

He said: “Hi everyone, people I love, have worked with, and admire… are unfairly getting caught up in speculation. Please don’t speculate on who any of the real life people could be. That’s not the point of our show.”

Express.co.uk has contacted Richard Gadd’s representatives for comment.

Fiona Harvey’s interview is available to watch on the Piers Morgan Uncensored YouTube channel.
