Baby Reindeer star's family left heartbroken over his sudden death as fans send support

A key player behind the making of Baby Reindeer has been remembered by many in heartbreaking tributes following his sudden death aged 50 earlier this year. Llewellyn Harrison is credited as the key grip of the Netflix series, a job which consists of overseeing equipment for a production, including coordinating its transportation and the positioning of cameras.

Viewers of the ever growing popular show became aware of Llewellyn’s death during a tribute to him in episode six. Just before the credits roll at the end of Donny Dunn’s (Richard Gadd) comedy set on stage, a dedication pops up saying: “In loving memory of Llewellyn Harrison”.

Since his sudden death, a JustGiving page has been set up to raise money for his loved ones. Alongside a picture of him on the website, a post reads: “Llewellyn was a much-loved colleague, friend and mentor to many. His sudden death has shocked us all, and his absence will be truly missed.

“We would like to take this opportunity to raise funds for the family he leaves behind.” Initially, the page creators wanted to raise £500 for his loved ones, however this has since rocketed to over £12,500 thanks to generous fans.

Judging by one tribute on the page, the key grip’s family seemingly included a partner and young children, as one wrote: “So sad and very sorry to hear the devastating news about Llew, he really was such a lovely man. Sending all our love to Tracy, kids and family at this difficult time.”

Another heartfelt message read: “Very very sad news. A tragic loss. Thoughts are with his family, I know he had a young daughter who came along to the set of a Little Mix video I did with Lew a few years back.”

Clerkenwell Films, the production company for Baby Reindeer, also posted: “Our deepest condolences to the family. He was a wonderful man who was a credit to his profession.”

Addressing the outpouring of love, Llewellyn’s mother has said this week: “I just wanted to thank everyone for the beautiful love and support during this the saddest time of our lives.

“My son is loved by so many, don’t think he realised just how much he is loved. Thank you everyone for loving him I can promise you he loved you back. xxxx.”

As well as his work on the number one Netflix series, Llewellyn is also credited for working on many other shows including Top Boy, Death in Paradise, Silent Witness and Holby City, as well as movies The Marvels, Boxing Day and Trigger.

The heartfelt tribute to Llewellyn in Baby Reindeer is displayed towards the end of the seven-part series, which has become a worldwide hit amongst Netflix viewers.

Created by comedian and actor Richard, the drama is based on his experience with a stalker and the toll it took on his life after she harassed him relentlessly.

In the series, he plays a fictionalised version of himself named Donny who meets Martha (played by Jessica Gunning) at a pub he worked at.
