Armed police descend on quiet street as two men are shot in the legs in horror attack

Two men have both been shot in the legs as police launch an investigation into the horror attack which took place late at night. Police report one victim, 18, took himself to hospital at around 10.30pm on Wednesday (December 13).

The incident happened in Netherfield Road, next to Everton Park in Merseyside. Armed police were deployed, according to the Liverpool Echo, and found the second man, aged 24. He had been shot and was taken to hospital, also with wounds to his legs.

It’s reported the pair are both still in hospital recovering for non-life threatening injuries. Police are said to remain at the scene where a large cordon is erected. Officers are also undertaking CCTV reviews and knocking on doors.

Detective Inspector Pete McCullough said: “Enquiries remain ongoing to understand what has taken place. We know that two males received gunshot injuries to the legs and we believe that the two incidents are linked.

“CCTV and forensic enquiries are currently being carried out so we can better understand the sequence of events. Netherfield Road is often used as a route into the city centre and we would be keen to hear from any taxi or delivery drivers who were in that area between 10pm-10.30pm last night who think they captured something on their dashcam.
