As a lifestyle writer, I’m always hunting for the best home and garden furniture deals, but some of my best finds sneak onto my personal wishlist for my home, too. I found the Croft Rattan Outdoor Chair at Graham and Green a while back, but because of the £350 price tag, it didn’t quite make it into my basket.
So you can imagine how pleased I was to discover that Argos has an almost identical version of the chair: The Habitat Ross Rattan Effect Garden Chair. The rattan chair costs £75, so it’s within a much more affordable price range.
I’m a firm believer that your garden can be as stylish as your indoor space (no clunky plastic furniture, please), and this ticks all the boxes. Just like its expensive counterpart, the Argos chair has a brown rattan frame and black metal legs. The only minor difference is the colour of the cushion—Argos’ is grey rather than cream, but you could easily switch this to a different colour if you wanted to.
If I were going to buy the chair, I’d use it to relax and read in. However, it also reminds me of my trip to Bali, bringing a little taste of the holiday home. It’s great if you have an empty corner of your garden that’s missing something. You could also buy several chairs to use with a garden dining table, but as they’re only sold separately, at £325 each, they would end up expensive.
However, four Argos chairs would cost less than buying just one chair from Graham and Green!
If you’re looking for similar-looking chairs more suited to outdoor dining, Debenhams has the Sweeek Pair Of High-backed Rattan Dining Chairs for £139.30.
Argos shoppers are snapping up the chair to add to their gardens for summer, with one saying: “Comfortable outdoor chair and stylish too. The best thing was that it was easy to put together, which is not always the case.”
The only thing to bear in mind is that the chairs are described as “showerproof”, so you probably want to leave them out in heavy downpours. One shopper picked up on this, commenting: “I bought two chairs in the sale – I am so pleased with them, solid chairs, sturdy, very well made, lovely to look at, very comfy, bigger than I thought, (not sure how I will store them over winter), easy to put together, but don’t make mistake I made and put on back to front – pointy side goes to the back not the front!!!! Yes, I would recommend.” [SIC]
Another shopper added: “Really sturdy, well made and look great with my outdoor dining table.”
