No matter which model you go for, Apple’s iPads are quite expensive tech purchases, with the cheapest model retailing for £329. But the more you spend, the more tablet you get for your money, which is why it’s worth considering Amazon’s current discount on the latest iPad Air.
Usually £599, the iPad Air with M3 chip is down to £529 in what Amazon says is a “limited time deal”. A quick check of ever-reliable Amazon price comparison site Camelcamelcamel shows this is the cheapest this iPad Air has ever been on Amazon.
£70 off any Apple product is a rare and good discount, especially on this, the latest version of the iPad Air that came out in March 2025. This model has Apple’s powerful M3 chipset, and at £529 it’s the cheapest way to get your hands on a device that runs it, as you’ll only find it otherwise on pricier iPad Pros or MacBooks.
It’s a chip powerful enough for you to edit video, make music or play high end games. But of course this is an iPad, so you can do much simpler tasks on it too such as surf the web, email, use iMessage and FaceTime or read using the Apple Books or Kindle or Kobo apps.
If you need the cheapest, most basic iPad out there, the latest 11-inch iPad is just £309.97 from Amazon at the time of writing.
So why go for the iPad Air M3? The Air has a laminated screen, which means there’s no air gap between the glass and the display, which is present on the 11-inch Air. It’s not often talked about, but it becomes a reason to upgrade to the Air if you intend on using the Apple Pencil stylus for writing or drawing.

The laminated screen means the nib of the Pencil is more natural to write with as the marks it makes come directly from the stylus. It’s hard to describe but trust me – if you want to use the Pencil, you need to get the Air, which is compatible with the new and improved Apple Pencil Pro that charges magnetically on the side of the device.
The Air is also compatible with the Apple Magic Keyboard, which is an expensive accessory but is superior to Apple’s official case for the cheaper iPad.
The Air also has a screen with anti-reflective coating, works with Apple Intelligence AI tools, is rated for 10 hours of battery life, is charged by USB-C and has Touch ID built into the power button for biometric authentication.
It might be too much iPad for some, but for many the £529 price for the newest iPad Air should be a very good deal indeed. As with all Amazon’s limited time deals we don’t know how long this one will last, but the part is it’s available to anyone, not just Amazon Prime subscribers.
