American tries British Chinese takeaway for the first time asking: 'Where's the flavour?'


They posted the video: “A New Yorker visits the UK and tries British Chinese takeaway for the first time.”

In the order, Nicole’s order included a classic curry sauce, chicken fried rice and salt and pepper chips, however, she didn’t get the hype.

She said: “Was not expecting it to taste like that, where’s the flavor. Literally tastes of nothing, no hint of flavor, how is that possible?”

Despite, the chow mein tasting slightly better than she expected, Nicole only ranked the meal a measly four of out ten.

Meanwhile, others on X have spoken out about the trend with people having mixed reactions.

One person wrote: “Gotta say british chinese takeaway is an absolute abomination but it looks so fucking good at the same time.”

Another commented: “There isn’t ONE grain of seasoning in that whole dish what the hell,” someone replied, as another person added.

A third said: “This the s**t i make when i only have 4 half-empty boxes of frozen meals and need to eat smth asap.”

However, not everyone was against the idea, with one person writing: “Getting a british chinese takeaway for dinner after weeks without one, and it’s my favourite food on the planet.”

Another said: “List of things im gonna miss the most now that i left england:

A third commented: “British chinese takeaway looks good tbh. y’all don’t see the vision.”

Despite the mixed views, many users we’re still keen to try it out, with one person writing: “Need to try a British Chinese takeaway so bad. The tiktoks I see are just insane.”

Another simply said: “I wanna try British chinese takeaway.”
