Several major airlines have waived change fees for those flying to or from airports in the Northeast, Midwest and Canada due to dangerous air quality conditions from the Canada wildfires.
- American Airlines customers flying today can reschedule by the end of the day for a flight to the same destination on or before June 13 without paying the change fees.
- United Airlines will waive rescheduling fees for tickets purchased before June 7 if flights are rescheduled by June 13 in the same cabin and to the same destination.
- Southwest Airlines will allow customers flying today to rebook their flights for a date within the next 14 days with no additional fees.
These announcements follow forecasted delays and cancellations from the Federal Aviation Administration in 9 major airports across the Northeast, including Newark, LaGuardia, JFK, Boston Logan, Philadelphia, and Ronald Reagan Washington National.
