Aberfan stabbing: Heavily pregnant mum knifed in frenzied attack after school run pictured

A heavily pregnant Aberfan mum brutally stabbed in a horror incident this week has been pictured for the first time.

Andreea Pintilli, 29, was stabbed multiple times on Tuesday, December 7, in the town near Merthyr Tydfil, Wales, in what police have described as a “targeted” attack.

The mum-of-two and her unborn child have miraculously survived, and police have since arrested a man believed to be known to the victim on suspicion of attempted murder. Ms Pintilli was attacked as she returned home from dropping her children off at school on Tuesday morning, prompting a seven-hour manhunt that culminated in the 28-year-old’s arrest.

The alleged knifeman posted images of the victim in reels on social media platform TikTok and shared a music video with lyrics discussing a breakup. The man, who cannot be named for legal reasons, shared a video with Romanian lyrics referring to the end of a relationship that included lines like “be sure that karma will not forgive you”, before the attack.

Other lines reportedly included “you think it’s your right to hurt me so much” and “I won’t judge you, God will”. He also pinned videos of the mum-of-two to his profile speaking of his “agony” and Ms Pintilli’s two children.

After posting the videos, he “lay in wait” for the mum and then attacked her, the Daily Mail reported.

The attack sparked an immediate response from armed police, who swooped on an address on Moy Road in the South Wales village – to where she had moved in November – at around 9am on Tuesday.

She was discovered in a pool of blood, with the suspect having “left the scene immediately”. South Wales Police Chief Inspector Rob Miles said the man, from Merthyr, is now in police custody.

He said in a statement that Ms Pintilli is now receiving medical treatment and does not have life-threatening injuries.

Ch Insp Miles said: “I appreciate that there will be a real sense of shock within the local community with the attack having happened in broad daylight. I would like to reassure the public that we believe this to be a targeted attack.

“There will be an increased police presence in the area over the coming days to provide reassurance to local residents and the wider community. I would like to thank the local community for their patience and support throughout today’s police operation whilst we traced and arrested the suspect.

“The woman remains in hospital with injuries which are not believed to be life-threatening at this time.”
