There’s no way this is happening, right?
Aaron Donald, one of the best defensive players of all time, coming out of retirement to team up with Myles Garrett, the best defensive player in the game right now, to bring the Lombardi Trophy to Los Angeles?
I wouldn’t be so sure.

Former teammate Michael Brockers, while speaking on the “Locked on Rams” Podcast, said he’s heard that Donald is contemplating coming out of retirement to play alongside Garrett, who the Rams stunningly traded for Monday afternoon, in the same franchise he dragged into relevancy.
“(I have) some knowledge that others might not have … My guy is staying ready so he doesn’t have to get ready,” Brockers said.
While that comment was enough to see smoke smoldering, it was a video Donald posted late last week that officially ignited the flame.
Known for his insane workouts — quarterback Matthew Stafford’s story about Donald and a Make-A-Wish kid is legendary — Donald posted a video on his Instagram going through another ridiculous workout.
But it was the comment and song that got everyone talking.
While going through the grueling process, Donald had the song “Ain’t Done” by Bixst blasting in the background with the “#ready” in the post.
Donald is a former three-time Defensive Player of the Year and eight-time First-Team All-Pro selection. He’s widely considered one of the best defensive players of the century.
He abruptly retired on March 15, 2024 after another dominating season, stating he’d accomplished everything he wanted in football and no longer had the passion and desire to continue playing.

But now, Donald could be truly considering one last run at a title — alongside Garrett and a stacked Rams roster.
Fans around the NFL, especially Rams ones, can make their own interpretations but the evidence is there and the flame continues to grow.
