A lorry has erupted into flames on a major UK motorway during rush hour, causing severe delays along the A1(M) in South Yorkshire.
An update on the National Highways website reads: “The A1M is closed in both directions between J34 Blyth and J35 Wadworth J35 due to a lorry fire. Emergency services, including South Yorkshire Fire/Rescue are in attendance.”
Traffic diversions are in place, and it is not yet known whether there have been any injuries as a result of the incident.
