A Place In The Sun host sets record straight on show future after absence sparks fury

A presenter from A Place in the Sun has given an update on her future on the Channel 4 show. Leah Charles-King has confirmed that she won’t be returning to the Channel 4 show in this run of episodes, which started on April 29.

New episodes have been airing each weekday, but fans complained on social media as they noticed one presenter missing. Today’s show had Ben Hillman at the helm, as he showed friends Liv and Daisy some properties in Cyprus.

But fans pleaded for a new episode to feature Leah instead. One Twitter user posted: “Afternoon all, it’s Ben again today – have we had lovely @leahcharlesking on this run of new episodes yet? #aplaceinthesun.”

Leah is often active on the show’s hashtag and quickly picked up on her being missed. She responded to the tweet as she wrote: “Unfortunately not. And I won’t appear in this current new run either, I’m afraid, Placers!”

The Channel 4 presenter went on to give an update on when she may eventually return, as she added: “But hopefully the next one. Feel free to kick up a stink about it. #aplaceinthesun.”

Fans showed their support for the presenter, as they said it was a “shame”. One user posted: “Well that’s a shame we love you on the show Leah.”

Another said: “That’s criminal – hoping we can expect a completely Leah-centric series soon considering all the episodes of yours they’ve got in their back pocket #aplaceinthesun.” Meanwhile a third added: “No Leah? We riot!”

Leah responded again as she said: “Awwww thanks. I’ve plenty of new episodes in the bank so hopefully I’ll feature in the next run. #aplaceinthesun.”

A Place in the Sun has informed Express.co.uk that Leah will be back on air on May 29 in a brand new episode.

The property expert recently opened up on struggling with health issues. Last year Leah went public with her diagnosis of bipolar disorder – a mental health condition that affects your moods, which can swing from one extreme to another.

The star revealed that at the time, she suffered from crippling anxiety so was advised to take Pregabalin. The NHS states that the medication is used to treat epilepsy and anxiety, and is also taken to treat nerve pain.

Speaking about the side effects, last week, Leah said: “The side effects were WILD. Was so scary. The withdrawal symptoms pins needles, shakes, dizziness.”

A Place in the Sun airs on Channel 4, weekdays at 3pm
